I will be posting Christmas themed horror films over the next 24 days of LosMas, for the final night, I am listing the 2017 Zombie musical Anna and the Apocalypse.

Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)

A young high school student hoping to escape her small town discovers that the world around her is falling apart as the dead come to life. As she and her friends look to help their family, they fight their way through the hordes with makeshift weapons and songs that help carry them through their fight. Directed by John McPhail,  Anna and the Apocalypse stars  Ella Hunt as Anna Sheppard, who excels in her role as a girl who longs to see the world but is compelled to stay home amidst a zombie crisis. The film stands out from the numerous horde of zombie films by including musical numbers that are catchy and help blend the many genres into a movie that is sometimes terrifying but full of holiday spirit. Although Anna and the Apocalypse is not a traditional blood and guts zombie movie, there is still plenty of gore and action sequences to make even hardcore horror hounds appreciate the unique and dark tone of this holiday horror film.
