Over the next 100 days, I will present one movie of significances in horror, suspense or thrillers for each year from 1919 to 2018. The next film presented here is 2007 Spanish found footage horror movie "REC" starring Manuela Velasco, Ferran Terraza, Jorge-Yamam Serrano, Pablo Rosso and directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza.

A Spanish news crew follows a team of firefighters on a routine call only to discover that the apartment building they enter is quarantined, and they are now trapped. As they try to find a way out the occupants discover the police will use deadly force to prevent their escape and as people begin to fall ill a far greater threat emerges. One of many films that use found footage style, this one stands apart with its terrifying plot and efficient use of confusion and fear brought about by the reactions caught on camera. REC was praised by critics and is considered one of the ten best horror movies of the decade. Followed by many sequels and, an American remake titled Quarantine that had its follow-up sequels.
