The Uninvited (1944)
Dir- Lewis Allen
In a seaside town in England, a brother and sister purchase an old house from a local man who is selling it for a low price. Once they arrive they meet the granddaughter of the seller and the brother is soon drawn to her. The house soon reveals itself to be haunted by an entity that the local girl is familiar with and the mystery behind the spirit's intent will soon reveal itself. A supernatural story that was more than a silly ghost movie, The Uninvited was one of the first movies to portray ghosts as serious storyline and not one for comic relief.
