After a global zombie apocalypse and the complete shutdown of society, Santa Claus has decided to leave the North Pole and settle in Garland, Texas. Despite this setback, Santa continues to bring cheer to the surviving children by using a ham radio to reach out to them. One little girl gives Santa pause as he promises to make her life happy despite the hardships. A Creature Was Stirring is a 2024 Christmas zombie comedy directed by Cliff McClelland and Tom Zembrod. A Creature Was Stirring features director Cliff McClelland as Santa and shows how even the jolliest of folk can be brought to despair due to loneliness and a loss of purpose. The radio chats and AI companion give Santa some hope, but it's the radio interactions with young Rica that help the movie during the slow moments. While not super bloody, the zombie moments are played more for laughs, especially with the zombie friend Ed.
