UFO Abduction (1989)
A found footage movie that features a family having an alien encounter in their home as a family member videotapes a birthday party. Often claimed to be an actual event, the fictional movie predated The Blair Witch Project by ten years.
Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County (1998)
A remake of the 1989 UFO Abduction, the film has a thanksgiving family gathering being interrupted by extraterrestrials. Like the first movie, many thought this was a genuine video of alien abduction.

Based on an alien encounter by Travis Walton while he was working as a logger in the White Mountains of Arizona.
The Fourth Kind (2009)
A pseudodocumentary about supposed alien encounters in Alaska in 2000. Milla Jovovich plays a psychologist using hypnosis to unlock memories of encounters.
