Screamers (1979)
The movie poster promised we would see a man inside out who was still alive. Instead, we got a Roger Corman version of a much better Italian movie called Island of the Fishmen. The preview does show some bizarre special effects that were supposed to be of the inside out man, but it is not in the movie.
Chopping Mall (1986)
In all fairness Chopping Mall was not the original title of this 1986 cult classic. Released under the name Killbots but after a poor box office showing the studio renamed the film to the more slasher sounding Chopping Mall despite no actual chopping or slashing.
Def-Con 4 (1985)
What has to be one of the coolest looking movie posters is also one of the most disappointing. Def-Con 4 is a post-apocalyptic movie about a trio of astronauts who survived a nuclear holocaust only to find themselves brought back to earth facing a different world. Nowhere in the film do you see anything remotely cool as the poster and instead get a Sad Max movie without any action.
Night Train to Terror (1985)
The poster for Night Train to Terror looks more like an alternate poster for the early 80s slasher Terror Train yet this movie is not about a knife-wielding slasher on a train. It is an anthology with very little activity on a train and no knife to be seen.
Ghoulies (1984)
The Ghoulies series used a toilet with the goblin-like Ghoulie in 3 of the movies but its barely even shown in in the first movie.
The Happening (2008)
Ths movie poster for M Night Shyamalan's The Happening pretty much shows nothing even remotely related to the plot of the movie. What is sad is that this poster looks like a great scene from a disaster movie.
Zombie Nation (2004)
This independent horror film released in 2005 but contrary to the box cover, there are only a half dozen zombies in the movie.
Camp Hell (2010)
A little known horror film from 2010, this movie has been given more attention due to Jess Eisenberg being in the film but not in a significant role. The cover art even shows a picture of Jesse Eisenberg suggesting he is the star causing Mr. Eisenberg to sue the studio for capitalizing on his fame.
