Killer Robots from the Year 1990- 73 Days to Halloween

Circuitry Man (1990)

In a post-apocalyptic society, the population has to live underground due to pollution. A woman has to smuggle contraband across the country with the help of an android. They are chased by a villain who can plug into his victim's head and read their minds. This Sad Max movie features Road Warrior baddie, Vernon Wells, as the villain Plughead. 


Class of 1999 (1990)

A sequel to Class of 1984, this movie is set in a crime-infested society were three teachers arrive to take back control of the gang-infested high school. Little does anyone know that the three teachers are military combat androids? The film would become a cult classic and spawn a sequel Class of 1999: The Substitute released in 1994. 


Crash and Burn (1990)

A simple delivery man finds himself and the staff of a TV station fighting a rogue killer robot in a future society that has outlawed computers and robots. Directed by Charles Band, the film was titled Robot Jox 2 in some markets but is not related. 



Hardware (1990)

A scavenger gives his girlfriend a robot head that she uses on an art piece. They are not aware that the robot can rebuild itself and soon have to face a dangerous killing machine. This movie was written and directed by Richard Stanley. 


Moon 44 (1990)

A futuristic battle fought by off-world companies that compete over mining resources and colonies. One company employs prisoners to fly helicopters to fight against robot craft that tries to take over the planet. Director Roland Emmerich and actor Dean Devlin would team up years later on Stargate, Independence Day and Godzilla.


Robocop 2 (1990)

In this sequel to the 1987 sci-fi film, the Robocop is a pawn in a scheme by mega-corporation OCP to take over old Detroit with a newer Robocop model while facing a new threat from a highly addictive street drug. The film was more violent than the first movie but lacked the dark humor of the original.  


Robot Jox (1990)

In the aftermath of World War 3, the surviving nations have outlawed war and instead settle disputes with giant robots piloted by champions called Robot Jox. Directed by Stuart Gordon, the movie was produced by Charles Band and starred Gary Graham. 


Syngenor (1990)

The Syngenor is a synthetic soldier made to be invulnerable, and when the prototype escapes, a battle rages between the super soldier and its creators. A sequel to the 1981 movie Scared to Death, Syngenor featured Re-Animator actor David Gale.
