Five Movies in the Same Universe- 84 Days to Halloween

Here are some unrelated movies that I feel are somewhat related to one another and could very well exist in the same universe. The comment descriptions do contain spoilers.

A Quiet Place and Cloverfield

In the 2018 film "A Quiet Place," little is known about the origin of the alien creatures except for some newspaper headlines that are seen in the Abbott basement. The sudden emergence of the aliens may be the result of a global event as shown in the Cloverfield universe; the creatures could have been yet another hostile creature that humanity is unable to fight off, and the Abbott family learn that silence is the only way to avoid this deadly menace.

Get Out is a prequel to The Purge

Jordan Peele's directorial debut film "Get Out" had a young black man named Chris Washington meeting his white girlfriend's parents only to find that he is being sized up for a bizarre auction by wealthy people looking to make use of his talents. The secret dealings of this group could easily have been part of a bigger conspiracy of people looking to take over the country, as seen in The Purge. Since poor neighborhoods are often targeted, it's not too hard to see people targeting affluent minorities with skills in athletics, finance, and the arts to take their best skills and traits.

Man Vs. and VHS 2 (Alien segment)

The 2015 movie Man Vs. is a mockumentary horror film about a survival host who goes into the deep woods to record his adventure and share tips on roughing it. On this outing, he encounters what he thinks are animals or people messing with him only to find he is being stalked by something, not of this Earth. With the possibility of an alien invasion and him being out in the deep forest, it's not too hard to imagine a nearby lake house in the woods being attacked by the same aliens who take advantage of the darkness to grab victims for all sorts of alien encounters.

The Loved Ones and Prom Night

I have always been a fan of the first two Prom Nights movies despite them being unrelated and focusing on two different killers. The follow-up films failed to live up to the first pair and, in reality, are just in name only despite the thrid one featuring Mary Lou Maloney. A much better movie to include in the Prom Night series would be the 2009 Sean Byrne movie The Loved Ones. It does focus on a Prom, and one twisted girl attempt to have the perfect Prom Night even if it involves kidnapping, torture, and murder. Robin McLeavy certainly makes for an evil villain, and this is undoubtedly a Prom Night movie in all but name.

The Town that Dreaded Sundown and Friday the 13th part 2

The events featured in the 1976 slasher film were based on real murders, and the masked killer was never captured, nor was his identity confirmed. Since the film took place in the spring of 1946, it would not be too hard to believe that the masked man could have found himself back in New Jersey, where he met a woman named Pamela and had a son with her. Jason Voorhees was born on June 13, 1947, and after his mother was killed, he donned a burlap sack hood much like that worn by the killer in The Town That Dreaded Sundown before he took on the more infamous hockey mask.
