Friends out on a snow skiing trip encounter mysterious and deadly creatures that seem to behave like sharks. As more folk turn up missing, the local sheriff finds himself at odds with local officials who feel his alarmist measures will ruin their winter festivities. Recently, we have seen several absurd shark films, including Sand Shark, Sharknado, and Two-Headed Shark. Avalanche Shark is no different, featuring icy predators that, while not genuinely physical sharks, appear to tie into the local folklore of the native communities. The Sharks CGI is adequate, but the film does have decent gore and plenty of hot ladies in bikinis to keep the attention of the anticipated audience of young males. Like every out-of-water movie, one must suspend all belief and realize that with these low-budget movies, no beach, mountain, or even outer space is safe from sharks.
