Jersey Shore Shark Attack (2012)

Jersey Shore Shark Attack (2012)

Jersey Shore locals find their laid-back life of partying threatened by wealthy developers looking to turn their beloved boardwalk into an elitist country club. Yet the real threat to all comes from the army of sharks that descend on their beaches due to the construction. This SyFy movie parody of the MTV reality show showcases several look-alike characters who behave similarly to their real-life counterparts. The stereotyped antics o these young people put them at odds with local law enforcement and preppy rivals who regularly conflict with them. The rest of the cast includes some mafia movie regulars, including Paul Sorvino and Tony Sirico. While not a serious horror movie, the parody aspect does make this shark film stand out as a satire on reality shows. The major faults with this movie are the amateurish CGI sharks used. They look too much like cartoons and behave in ways that real sharks would not. Despite this, the movie is silly enough to enjoy if you are a fan of the Jersey Shore phenomena or enjoy silly shark movies.
