Shark Warning (2024)
After watching his brother get attacked and killed by a shark as a boy, a young man returns 20 years later to his hometown, only to find that a shark threatens the community as he attempts to reconcile with his estranged uncle. Shark Warning is a 2024 shark thriller produced by The Asylum and directed by Jimmy Gadd. With all the attention paid to their low-budget mockbusters, most moviegoers are unaware that The Asylum also produces normal movies. The movie is set in Lake Havasu and features great scenery, but suffers from a derivative plot and very poor shark CGI. The story is no different from Jaws and many other similar films, with a predictable plot and similar tropes involving tourist-season money for the community. Shark Warning is certainly better than many low-budget movies, and for an Asylum movie, the production looks decent outside the shark CGI. Despite that, the movie is predictable and offers nothing new beyond what's been done to death in numerous other shark movies.
