The Amityville Haunting (2011)
A family moves into the notorious house on Long Island and encounters several supernatural events, all recorded by their son's video camera as he chronicles their home move-in. As the parents' stress is revealed, the recordings show an entity slowly making this event a living hell for the family. One of the numerous name-only movies that capitalize on the Amityville Horror, this one is found footage, so most of the scary moments are caught on camera. Produced by The Asylum, The Amityville Haunting has a predictable by-number plot that could easily be made without the Amityville legend's tie-in, as it's more focused on the found footage aspect than the haunted home. While the cast is run-of-the-mill, the one standout is the teen boy recording everything who proves to be one the most annoying characters in the film, primarily when he documents his older sister in a creepy and pervy manner.
